At Medi8 Therapy, your relationship sets the pace. There's no fixed programme or tie-in, you continue for as long as the coaching feels supportive, meaningful and right for you both.

How much does it cost?

Individual initial consultations are offered at a reduced rate of £40 per session. Both partners are required to attend their own individual initial consultation before commencing couples therapy.Couple sessions are £50 per hour. We also offer block booking options for three or six sessions, providing a discounted rate and helping you plan your ongoing support.

What happens at the first session?

Both partners are required to attend an individual initial consultation appointment before commencing couples therapy. During your initial session, we will discuss the history of your relationship distress, explore the main challenges you are experiencing, and identify the key factors contributing to the difficulties within the relationship. There will also be some contractual paperwork to complete as part of the process.This is a two-way process, and it is important that you feel confident you have the right support in place. The initial consultation is an opportunity for us to get to know you individually, understand your perspective, and ensure that working together feels like the right partnership for everyone involved.

What is the Medi8 Therapy room like?

The Medi8 Therapy room is a cosy, private room within my home.  The room is comfortable, relaxing with ambient lighting and decor.

What is the difference between a counsellor and a relationship expert?

Counselling and relationship coaching share similarities, but they are different approaches designed to meet different needs.

A Counsellor:
A counsellor is trained to support people with deeper emotional or psychological issues. Counselling often focuses on exploring past experiences, emotional healing, and helping clients work through distress, trauma, or mental health concerns. Counsellors typically work in a non-directive way and follow a therapeutic model.

A Relationship Expert or Coach:
As a relationship expert, my focus is on helping couples and individuals move forward. Coaching is more goal-oriented, practical, and solution-focused. I help clients develop communication skills, build stronger connections, and create strategies for positive change in their relationships.

I do not offer counselling or mental health treatment, and if deeper emotional support is needed, I will always signpost clients to a suitable counsellor.

What will future sessions look like after we have started with Medi8 Therapy?

During the first few sessions, you as a couple will be supported to identify what you both want from your relationship and begin creating shared goals for your work together. This includes exploring your priorities as a couple, recognising the areas of the relationship that may need attention, and identifying patterns or challenges that you would like to improve.These sessions also provide a safe and supportive space to practise being more open about your feelings, including exploring thoughts, emotions, or concerns that may feel difficult to express at home. You may have goals you want to work on together, as well as individual areas for personal growth and reflection.To help maintain progress between appointments, you may also be offered reflective exercises or ‘homework’ to complete outside of sessions, helping you continue conversations and apply what you have explored together in everyday life.

Will the relationship expert takes sides?

Our relationship expert is non-judgmental, professional, and impartial. They will not take sides or decide who is right or wrong. The focus is on creating a safe space where both partners feel heard, understood, and supported to explore each other’s perspectives with the guidance of an impartial person.As part of this process, you may sometimes be gently challenged or encouraged to look at situations from a different perspective. This can occasionally feel uncomfortable or make you feel vulnerable, but the purpose is not to assign blame; it is to help you explore the relationship dynamics, understand each other better, and consider different ways of responding to challenges.We understand that the first few sessions may feel unfamiliar or challenging as you begin to open up about personal experiences and emotions. As you build trust with your relationship expert and become more comfortable with the process, conversations will often begin to feel more natural, allowing you both to communicate more openly and honestly.

Do we both have to attend?

Most couples prefer to attend together to work through issues; however, it may be necessary to have some individual sessions depending on circumstances, and this can be discussed during your initial consultation.

Medi8 Therapy is based in Daventry, Northamptonshire.  We are ten minutes (six miles) from Junction 18 of the M1 and 15 minutes from Junction 1 of the M6 (Rugby).
The nearest train station is Long Buckby (10 minutes by car)

We specialise in relationship and marriage support, couples therapy, and relationship coaching. We can help you work through challenges such as communication difficulties, recurring arguments, conflict resolution, loss of trust, infidelity, jealousy, lack of compromise, feeling disconnected, changes in respect or understanding, and patterns of behaviour that may be affecting your relationship.This list is not exhaustive, and we recognise that every relationship is unique. Any concerns or challenges can be explored during the initial consultation session, where we can better understand what you are experiencing and how we can best support you.
